The New Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Watch

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, Omega is preparing to release a new version of the Omega Speedmaster replica. In 1969, the company created the first generation Speedmaster BA145.022 for Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Half a century later, as the first watch ever worn on the moon, Omega decided to launch a limited edition Speedmaster commemorative watch.

The new Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Limited Edition watch looks very similar to the 1969 version, but the lettering turns into rose gold (rather than white) and the number of seconds on the yellow dial is 1/3 (instead of 1/ 5).

For the movement, the new Speedmaster Apollo 11 features a hand-wound 3861 calibre with a free spring balance wheel with a silicon balance spring and gold-plated finish for 50 hours of power and a 12-hour chronograph.

As a certified master chronograph, it has been significantly upgraded from the original upgrade to withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 Gauss. In addition, the watch's 42mm sealed case supports 5 ATM waterproof (50 m / 167 ft).
